Couples & Marital Counseling

Specializing in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFT).

  • Are you having the same fight over and over again, but not resolving anything?
  • Are you feeling alone, even though you are married or in a committed relationship?
  • Do you wonder if you really should stay with your spouse or partner?
  • Has your partner or spouse been unfaithful? Or are you thinking of having an affair because you feel unappreciated, alone, or sexually dead?
  • Has your relationship lost its spark and are you longing for a closer, deeper connection?

Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy is an effective and practical approach that helps couples stop their negative cycle of relating and develop more satisfying ways of connecting.  Research shows that EFT works.

Using EFT, we will work collaboratively to recognize the emotions which fuel the negative cycle and to understand the issues that come between you.  We will then work on developing a more effective way for you to communicate.  This results in forming a stronger bond in your relationship. EFT has been shown to improve communication, increase emotional closeness, repair relationships, address family problems such as chronic illness, and help with problems such as depression, anxiety, and posttraumatic stress disorder.

EFT is effective with married and cohabitating couples and is a type of therapy that has been found to be helpful for heterosexual and gay and lesbian couples.

Speaking from my heart, I am thrilled by my work with couples using EFT and many couples have told me it has brought them closer than ever before. Even men who do not usually talk about their feelings find that EFT is a comfortable way to express themselves.
